PacLease recently hosted a Network Wide Service & Operations Summit for its U.S. and Canadian franchises in Grapevine, Texas.
According to Dane Mercier, Paccar Leasing’s director of franchise operations, the two-day event saw excellent attendance and focused on topics and breakout seminars designed to enhance PacLease’s commitment to superior customer service, maintain its industry leading product knowledge and drive efficiencies throughout the franchise network.
Key PacLease supplier partners, along with representatives from Kenworth and Peterbilt, were on hand to provide additional insights and sessions.

“It’s always encouraging to see our franchises come together to share best practices, support one another, and learn new ways to move the bar forward in customer satisfaction,” says Mercier. “In addition, with rising costs, a changing regulatory environment and the introduction of new products and components in the market, it was a great opportunity to leverage the collective experience we have and, as a network, figure out strategies to improve operations and drive costs down.”
Sessions included a PacLease service council breakout where franchises posed questions, and a host of new components were discussed — from transmissions to axles and brakes. “The service team is going to see the truck throughout the entire lease term, so they know what performs well and what doesn’t,” said Mercier. “Many of our franchises work with their customers to custom spec their trucks, and the service team often has input on those specifications. It’s important for them to stay up to date on the latest technology and product offerings. Ultimately it just comes down to getting the best possible and productive truck in the hands of our customer.”
PacLease states other topics included new services the PacLease Maintenance team provides, as well as the extensive data and tools available to the network through PacLease’s recently launched PacLease Franchise Portal.
The future of vehicle technology also was discussed in a presentation focused on leveraging data from the vehicle, plus new trucks featuring an upcoming engine model were on display. Additional new technological tools were also announced.
“The Service Summit was a fantastic event and a great way to kick off the second half of the year,” says Mercier. “Full-service leasing continues to have more and more appeal to customers, and our franchises are right there continuing to expand their businesses as well. We’re ready with ideas and solutions to continue PacLease’s reputation as the service leader in the leasing industry.”
