Grote adds rear-view camera to 4SEE trailer system

Grote released a rear-view camera for its 4SEE Smart Trailer system.

"Innovation is part of our DNA," says Dominic Grote, CEO and president of Grote. "And since safety is a key tenet of our vision, applying that skill to designing a system that improves safety for both fleets and everyone on the road is a natural outcome for us. I'm proud of the work our team does every day to innovate and to live our mission, vision and values."

The wired rear-view camera is connected through the standard J560 seven-way connector. Video from the back of the trailer displays in the cab with virtually no latency, the company says.

The 4SEE Smart Trailer System integrates smart technology and connects all the modules on the trailer via a 4SEE Digital Harness. The nose box integrates all of the component data from the trailer, allowing it to be transmitted directly to the driver, cloud or third-party telematics provider.

The full system is backward compatible and also ready for the future of smart trailer systems, Grote says, and can be used with flatbed trailers.

Grote recently won the Innovation Excellence Award from the Indiana Manufacturers Association for its history of innovation and for the launch of the 4SEE Smart Trailer System.
