IMI and Redcat Industries launched the LUG LINX wheel safety system on Monday. The solution indicates lug nut movement and holds loose lug nuts, allowing the driver to detect loose lug nuts that need to be retorqued.

"We're excited to introduce LUG LINX, a new product designed to complement the R.I.S.T. process to keep a fleet's wheels rolling safely on their trucks," says IMI President Bob Fogal.

LUG LINX comes in two options, standard and high-temperature. Both have identical functionality, IMI says, but the standard set melts at 248 degrees while the high-temp version can handle 302 degrees. IMI says the temperature distinction is important for school buses, waste hauling and public transportation, where frequent stop-start conditions can raise wheel temperatures.

LUG LINX is available in a range of sizes to meet various fleet needs.

"Since creating the first turnkey system for refinishing truck wheels in 1986, we've been involved with a key portion of wheel safety, the condition of the wheel itself," Fogal says. "We understand the vital importance of wheel safety and the costly consequences of ignoring it."
