Shur-Co tarping system

Shur-Co showcased its new spring arm tarping system for trailers during the Work Truck Show this week in Indianapolis

Shur-Co says its new tarping system is designed for landscaping and construction applications and the various trailers commonly used in both markets. Designed for durability, efficiency and safety, Shur-Co says its new system can be purchased as a factory installation through Big Tex and PJ Trailers or as a retrofit for other commercial trailers serving those markets.

The system supports high-side trailers up to 16 ft., long, and low-side up to 18 ft.

Shur-Co adds the system can be operated many ways. Its standard manual crank ensures smooth, controlled operation, significantly reducing physical strain compared to pull-style tarping. Built for durability, the company says it ensures long-term performance and reliability, even in demanding conditions This well-built system provides even, secure coverage, reducing the risk of cargo exposure while minimizing wear and tear on the tarp itself — ultimately leading to safer roadways. Additionally, the durable tarp system enhances safety by eliminating the need for operators to climb or manually adjust the tarp, leading to a safer, more ergonomic work environment.

And while the system comes standard with a manual start, Shur-Co says it can be easily upgraded to electric with the EZ-R Remote conversion. With remote operation, users can deploy or retract the tarp from a distance, eliminating the need to manually crank or adjust it. This saves time, reduces physical strain, provides quicker response in an emergency, and minimizes the risk of accidents by keeping operators safely on the ground. The company states its a smart upgrade for those looking to improve workflow and enhance job-site safety. And for added durability and aesthetics, an aluminum option resists corrosion and maintains its appearance longer, while a steel option offers a cost-effective alternative, the company says.
