Snap-on launched the PRO-LINK+ diagnostic system on Monday.
The system includes hardware and software for a code-based diagnostic and repair platform for all makes of trucks. PRO-LINK+ delivers step-by-step troubleshooting routines, testing procedures, component and connector photos, fault-specific wiring diagrams, specifications, and remove and install instructions. It has been validated by all major OEMs.
"Effective diagnostic troubleshooting is often cited as the most significant challenge facing commercial vehicle technicians today," says Maark Ganey, senior product manager for Snap-on. "The PRO-LINK+ is a complete diagnostic system designed to address this need. The proprietary hardware and software combine OEM-level diagnostic capabilities — hundreds of special tests and calibrations — with code-based repair information, including wiring diagrams and photos of component locations to make PRO-LINK+ the essential diagnostic companion."
A 9-pin and 16-pin adapter are included and the system supports the latest protocols including CAN FD and DoIP. At each connection, the system identifies all fitted systems, displays active and inactive fault codes and automatically saves a vehicle health report.
The hardware has been designed for commercial vehicle service environments, Snap-on says, with a large 12-inch touchscreen, 9-hour battery life and an integrated camera with light. It features a USB-C port for charging and connection to a monitor or external devices and two USB 3.0 ports for peripherals. It comes with the ability to adjust more than 600 user-configurable parameters such as cruise control, engine idle shutdown and service intervals as well as more than 200 OEM special tests, including DPF regens, cylinder cutouts and fuel system leakage tests.
