Continental Tires Americas announced Tuesday its HDR 5 and HSR 5 19.5 in., tires are now available in size 245/70R19.5.

The company says the size extension for both tires is designed to meet the needs of urban and regional fleets operating in high scrub environments, where dependable performance in stop-and-go conditions is essential.

Continental adds key enhancements for both tires include:

  • Updated Tread Compound: The tires feature a revised tread compound that offers improvements in rolling resistance and mileage compared to previous versions. These updates help support fuel efficiency and extended wear life.
  • Redesigned Sidewall: The sidewalls have been reengineered to better support multiple retread cycles, helping fleets get more out of each casing. It’s also built to withstand high scrub environments, making it a reliable choice for urban delivery routes.
  • EV Compatible: Both tires come with an EV checkmark that means that the tire meets the special requirements of EV/hybrid vehicles as well as those of combustion engines

The company adds the new size extensions build on the proven performance of the existing product lines, offering targeted improvements for local delivery operations.

“They are practical solutions for fleets looking to optimize tire life and manage operating costs in demanding conditions. Both the steer and drive tire have improved mileage from their predecessors,” the company says.
