What if truck and trailer lamps never failed?

That’s the question Peterson Manufacturing asked itself before developing Genesis, a new landmark LED truck and trailer product line that the company says “never goes out,” introduced Thursday at Work Truck Week 2026 in Indianapolis.

“Let’s start with the question the trucking industry has never answered, ‘How many diodes have to fail before a light is considered ineffective or unlawful?’” says Al Anderson, vice president of sales and marketing at Peterson. “This is something we continue to struggle with as an industry.”

But with Genesis, Anderson says this will be a problem no more.

Uniquely designed with dual circuitry and the ability to increase illumination of one diode if another goes out, Anderson says Genesis lamps are built to forever be operational. As long as a unit has power, the lights will work, he says, ensuring drivers and fleets never have to question if a light needs to be replaced before the unit hits the road.

Now available in Peterson’s premium lighting lines, including its 9 diode round stop-tail-turn lamps and 6 in. ovals with more models to come, Anderson believes Genesis will be a game changer in the lighting space.

“It eliminates the diode debate entirely,” he says. “There is no partial failure; there is no interpretation.”

Peterson also showcased its new 853 modular box lights and Repairable J560 Connector at Work Truck Week. Anderson says the modular box lights are another big shift in the lighting space and will enable fleets to quickly replace and expand their lighting products with minimal downtime. The modular lights are launching on the 853 product line with more models to be added, Anderson says.

Finally, the J560 was initially released last fall and is a screw-on and off connector end that enables customers to fix a damaged connection in less than a minute without requiring an entire cable replacement.

Designed and developed in collaboration with fleet maintenance teams to ensure durability, ease of service and compliance with SAE standards, Anderson says the repairable connector is a solution that — “saves time, money and materials — all while extending the life of existing harnesses.”
