Eaton Makes Organizational Changes

Eaton Corp. announced that John Coll has been named vice president of global marketing for the Vehicle Group, responsible for creating, communicating and delivering value to customers in key market segments around the world for Eaton’s automotive and commercial vehicle power management offerings and for the formation of a global marketing team.

“We’re transforming the Vehicle Group from a product-focused organization to a market-focused one,” says Kenneth Davis, Vehicle Group president. “John’s marketing leadership skills and experience position him very well to lead that transformation for us.”

Most recently, Coll was director of sales for Eaton’s Truck business in North America, and has held a variety of sales and aftermarket leadership positions since joining Eaton in 2001 as director of global channel marketing for the Cutler-Hammer Group. Prior to joining Eaton, he served in a variety of sales and marketing positions with Philips Lighting Co.

In a related announcement, the following appointments were made to Coll’s global marketing leadership team:
• Don Alles has been named director of branding and communications, responsible for global internal and external communications for Eaton’s Vehicle Group. Since joining Eaton in 1984, Alles has held several business communication management positions in the truck business and Vehicle Group;
• Bill Carter has been named director of sales and marketing functional excellence, responsible for developing and deploying best practices, processes and tools for the Vehicle Group’s global sales and marketing organizations. Since joining Eaton in 1976, Carter has served in management roles in engineering, product planning, pricing and sales operations; and
• Tom Nellenbach has been named director of marketing intelligence, responsible for delivering intelligence related to key market segment opportunities around the world. Since joining Eaton in 2006, Nellenbach has served as the marketing manager for alternative markets in the Automotive Group and market planning and automotive marketing manager for Vehicle Group.
