ZF's OnGuardMAX and OnSideALERT systems will be offered on Nikola hydrogen fuel cell trucks, the first time the two driver assistance systems will be offered in North America.

OnGuardMAX is ZF's most advanced automatic emergency braking system with autonomous functionality for commercial vehicles. It is designed to assist drivers in recognizing and responding to possible dangerous traffic situations. The system uses data integration with a high-tech camera and radar suite to help it autonomously detect, classify and react to moving and stationary objects. It warns the driver of obstructions in the truck's immediate path and, if necessary, can automatically slow the vehicle down or bring it to a stop.
OnSideALERT is a radar-based blind spot detection system that continuously identifies a wide variety of stationary and moving objects in a truck's blind spot.
