The transmission is engineered to operate with all MX-11 and PX-9 engine ratings up to 445 horsepower and 1,700 lb.-ft. of torque and MX-13 engine ratings up to 455 horsepower and 1,650 lb.-ft. of torque, both with 70,000 pounds of gross combination vehicle weight.
The Paccar TX-12 PRO features many of the same capabilities as the TX-18 PRO, including an extreme duty clutch, a rock-free mode and off-high calibration tuned for changing soil conditions. The 12-speed gear set provides wide ratio coverage and maneuverability.
There are dual PTO openings, a bottom mount eight-bolt and a four-bolt rear mount for a combined 95 horsepower capacity on the TX-12 PRO.
The transmission also has an internal oil temperature sensor, showing transmission temperatures on the in-cab 15-inch digital display. It comes standard with Kenworth's column-mounted, right-hand stalk shifter.
The clutch is maintenance free and oil maintenance intervals for the TX_12 PRO are 250,000 miles.
