The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Navistar is recalling certain 2022-2023 International HX, HV, LoneStar, LT, MV, RH, IC TC Commercial Bus, and 2022 International WorkStar vehicles. The steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly, which can cause the gear to fracture. A fractured steering gear can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 33,655 units are affected by the recall.
  • Navistar is recalling certain 2022-2023 IC CE School Buses. The steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly, which can cause the gear to fracture. A fractured steering gear can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 3,570 units are affected by the recall.
  • Nova Bus is recalling certain 2019-2021 LFS and 2019-2022 LFS Artic buses. The radiator fan's electrical fuse holder may experience excessive corrosion which can result in an electrical short. An electrical short increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says potentially 273 units are affected by the recall.
  • Shyft Group is recalling certain 2021-2022 Utilimaster Walk-In Vans. The headrest portion of the passenger-side jump seat may have been installed in an incorrect position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 202, "Head Restraints." An incorrectly positioned headrest can increase the risk of injury during a crash. NHTSA says potentially 5,551 units are affected by the recall.
