The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Autocar is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. A software error may cause the low air pressure warning to not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems." A low air pressure warning that does not function properly can result in driving without functioning brakes, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 586 units are affected by the recall.
  • Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024 MD6 and MD7 vehicles. The park brake light may indicate the incorrect brake status due to an incorrect park brake pressure switch. The park brake light may indicate that the park brake is applied when it is not, possibly resulting in a vehicle roll away and increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 117 units are affected by the recall.
  • Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024-2025 Granite vehicles. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification." An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 35 units are affected by the recall.
  • Navistar is recalling certain 2025 International HV, HX, LT, and MV vehicles. The steering gear sector shaft may have been improperly heat-treated, which can cause the gear teeth to crack or fracture. Fractured steering gear teeth can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 272 units are affected by the recall.
  • Nova Bus is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS vehicles. Missing electrical components may prevent the battery disconnect switch from functioning. An inoperative battery disconnect switch increases the risk of electrical shock and injury during maintenance and repairs. NHTSA says potentially 36 units are affected by the recall.
