The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Blue Bird Bus Company is recalling certain 2016-2021 Vision school buses equipped with 6.8L gasoline engines. The coating on the fuel lines may have been improperly applied, which can result in a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 8,294 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Blue Bird Bus Company is recalling certain 2016-2021 Vision transit buses equipped with 6.8L gasoline engines. The coating on the fuel lines may have been improperly applied, which can result in a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 89 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2023-2024 Transit vehicles. The steering column intermediate shaft may have been secured to the steering gear pinion shaft with an incorrect bolt, which can result in the separation of steering components and cause a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,902 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Motiv Power Systems is recalling certain 2021-2024 E-450, 2019-2023 F-59, and 2019-2020 F-53 vehicles equipped with a Motiv Gen 5 EPIC powertrain. The vehicle control software could misclassify a loss of isolation between the chassis and high voltage system, shutting down the high voltage (HV) batteries. The shutdown of the HV batteries can cause a loss of power steering, brake power assist, and drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 200 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Motiv Power Systems is recalling certain 2021-2024 E-450 vehicles equipped with a Motiv Gen 5 EPIC powertrain. The Controller Area Network (CAN) signal wires could contact the frame rail and become damaged, causing a loss of drive power. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 78 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Motiv Power Systems is recalling certain 2021-2023 F-450 and 2020 F-59 school buses equipped with a Motiv Gen 5 EPIC powertrain. The vehicle control software could misclassify a loss of isolation between the chassis and high voltage system, shutting down the high voltage (HV) batteries. The shutdown of the HV batteries can cause a loss of steering and brake power assist, and drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 28 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- REV Recreation Group (REV) is recalling certain 2019-2025 Holiday Rambler Admiral, 2018 Holiday Rambler Admiral XE, Fleetwood Storm, 2023-2025 Holiday Rambler Eclipse, Fleetwood Flex, 2018-2025 Fleetwood Flair, 2020-2024 Fleetwood Fortis, 2020-2025 Holiday Rambler Invicta, 2018-2023 Fleetwood Pace Arrow, and 2018-2019 Holiday Rambler Vacationer XE motorhomes, equipped with the HappiJac drop down bed option. The front overhead cabinet fasteners can break, allowing the overhead cabinet to detach. A cabinet that detaches while the vehicle is in motion can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 4,665 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- REV is recalling certain 2019-2025 Holiday Rambler Admiral, 2023-2025 Holiday Rambler Eclipse, Fleetwood Flex, and 2019-2024 Fleetwood Flair motorhomes. The exterior patio outlet may lack GFCI protection when powered by the generator or shore cord. An outlet without GFCI protection may fail to shut off electrical power when a ground-fault occurs, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 598 units are potentially affected by the recall.
