Recall report: Kenworth recalls nearly 14K units for faulty display; Ford over a million backup camera failure

Safety Recalls

The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse. A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,456,417 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • International Motors is recalling certain 2020-2026 IC Bus CESB and 2021 RESB school buses. The underfloor reinforcement may not have been installed, compromising the structural integrity of the buses. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages" and 222, "School Bus Passenger Seating and Crash Protection." Reduced structural integrity may increase the risk of injury in a crash. NHTSA says 193 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Jayco is recalling certain 2026 Seismic fifth wheel travel trailers. The certification label lists an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification. The trailer may be accidentally overloaded after referencing the incorrect information, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 75 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Motor Coach Industries is recalling certain 2020-2021 J4500E, 2021 D45CRTELE, 2023 J4500E, 2023-2024 D45CRTELE, 2024 D45CRTE, and 2025 J4500E buses. An inadequate weld on the high voltage battery busbar and incorrect software may cause the battery module to overheat. A battery module that overheats increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 59 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • New Flyer of America is recalling certain 2013, 2017-2025 XE40, 2019-2025 XE60, XE35, 2023-2025 XHE40, and 2024-2025 XHE60 buses. An inadequate weld on the high voltage battery busbar and incorrect software may cause the battery module to overheat. A battery module that overheats increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 1,170 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Orange EV is recalling certain 2024-2025 HUSK-e Tandem terminal trucks. The driveshaft may contact and damage the passenger side brake chamber or brake chamber bracket. Damaged brake components may cause a reduction of brake performance and unexpected activation of the emergency braking system, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 16 units are potentially affected by the recall and a 'Do Not Drive' warning has been issued.
  • Paccar is recalling certain 2024-2026 Kenworth T680, T880, and W990 trucks. The 15-in., digital display may fail to display warning lights or vehicle speed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS numbers 101, "Controls and Displays" and 121, "Air Brake Systems." An instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or vehicle speed, increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 13,908 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Spartan Fire is recalling certain 2023-2026 Gladiator, Metrostar, FC-94, KME Panther, and 2024-2025 Predator vehicles. The actuator lever arm in the cab door latch may bind or become wedged, preventing the door from opening. A door that cannot be opened may trap occupants inside the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 1,260 units are potentially affected by the recall.
