Safety Recalls

The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

  • Corp. Micro Bird is recalling certain 2025-2026 G5e school buses. The transmission interlock may allow the vehicle to be put into gear when the rear emergency door is locked. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety (FMVSS) Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." An emergency exit that is locked can prevent or delay occupants from exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 30 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Fontaine Trailer Company is recalling certain 2025-2026 Fontaine HCIFL12SAT and HCIFL82CTA forklift trailers. The auto lift axle cables may not be installed in the correct ports, which can disable the anti-lock brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 121, "Air Brake Systems." Driving without a functioning anti-lock brake system may result in the trailer not braking as intended, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 35 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Nova Bus is recalling certain 2013 LFS transit buses. The coolant hoses routed through the HVAC roof unit may fail and leak coolant into the passenger seating area. Hot coolant that leaks into the passenger seating area increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 24 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • REV Recreation Group is recalling certain 2023-2024 American Coach American Tradition, 2023-2026 American Eagle, and American Dream, and 2025-2026 Fleetwood Palisade recreational vehicles. The waste tank macerator fuse may overheat, causing the fuse housing to melt. A melted fuse housing increases the risk of injury or fire. NHTSA says 224 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain 2025 GT1 Touring vans. The seat belt buckles on the rear bench seat may be too short and not able to be buckled. A seat belt that is unable to be fastened increases the risk of injury in the event of a crash. NHTSA says 20 units are potentially affected by the recall.
