The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Autocar is recalling certain 2023-2024 ACX (Xpeditor) vehicles. Contact with the drive line yoke may damage the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) unit. A damaged ESC unit may malfunction, disabling the electronic stability control and increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 11 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Chrysler is recalling certain 2024-2026 Jeep Wagoneer S, 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 4500 Cab Chassis, Ram 5500 Cab Chassis, and 2026 Jeep Cherokee vehicles. Due to an improperly designed trailer tow module, the trailer lights may fail to illuminate and the trailer brakes may fail. Trailer brake lights and turn signals that do not illuminate reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, trailer brakes that fail increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 456,287 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2023-2024 Transit vehicles. The engine crossmember may not be secured properly, which can cause the engine to shift and possibly result in a loss of drive power or brake failure. A loss of drive power or brake failure increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,403 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2026 E-Transit vehicles. Bolts inside the high-voltage battery pack may be missing washers, which can cause high electrical resistance or electrical arcing. Electrical arcing increases the risk of a fire. In addition, a loss of drive power may occur, which can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 98 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Pierce Manufacturing is recalling certain 2025 Velocity, Saber, Impel, Enforcer, and Arrow XT vehicles. The steering linkage arm bolt may come loose, resulting in the steering linkage arm detaching from the steering motor. Steering linkage arm detachment can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 51 units are potentially affected by the recall.
