The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Blue Bird Bus Company is recalling certain 2026-2027 All American school buses. The retention nuts between the wiper blades and the mounting arms may have been improperly tightened. Loose fasteners may cause the windshield wipers to become inoperative, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 103 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER HDX2 school buses. The driver seat belt anchor may have been installed with inadequate hardware. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number (FMVSS) 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages." An improperly installed seat belt anchor may fail to properly restrain the driver in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 71 units are potentially affected by the recall.
