ACT Research says the used Class 8 retail sales average price was up slightly, 0.4% month-over-month, in November.

"On a year-over-year basis, prices were 4.4% lower," says Steve Tam, vice president at ACT Research. "Prices are expected to remain stable at or around the current level for the next couple of months before transitioning to year-over-year growth in early 2025."

Tam says same-dealer Class 8 retail truck sales slowed in November. But there's some good news.
"The 6.4% month-over-month decrease was better than the expected 18% seasonal contraction indicated by history," he says. "November is typically the weakest sales month of the year, running 10% below average."
The numbers were reported in ACT's State of the Industry: U.S. Classes 3-8 Used Trucks.
