Used Cl8 Retail Summary Heat Map October 2025 FinalSame dealer used Class 8 retail truck sales decreased 4.9% month over month in October, a change from preliminary sales data released earlier this month, ACT Research announced Tuesday.

“October is typically the third best sales month of the year, running nearly 8% above average,” says Steve Tam, vice president at ACT Research. 

The auction market was the strongest segment last month per ACT data.

“Surprisingly, the October auction market maintained some of September’s vigor,” Tam says. “Auction volumes advanced 19% month over month in October. Dealers also built on September’s momentum. The wholesale channel added 2.5% month over month. Combined, total market same dealer sales volumes rose 5.2% month over month in October.”

In the retail space, pricing also fell despite the contracted volume. 

“The Class 8 average retail sale price contracted 3.9% month over month in October, falling to $55,300. On a year-over-year basis, prices decreased 0.8%,” Tam says.
