Who’s in the news: Our weekly trucking employment report

    The following employment announcements were made in the trucking industry the week of Jan. 15, 2024: 

    • Kendall Schaus was promoted to field sales manager for the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc. She will focus on Alliance member sales, including national retail chain accounts and the Auto Value, Bumper to Bumper and Confidence Plus Certified Service Centers program. 
    • Jane Clark has been promoted to senior vice president of operations at NationaLease.
    • Dave Johnson is the new president and CEO of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Also taking their seats on the board of directors are: Tom Trisdale, vice president of quality, Toyota; Jason Rainey, vice president of NAPA AutoCare/AAA; John Wolf, president of Snap-on Business Solutions; and Tom Palermo, general manager of Preferred Automotive Specialists. Homer Hogg, vice president of truck service for Travel Centers of America, will serve as past chair. Eight new members of the board of governors also started their term. They are Matt Allen of Virginia Auto Service; Scott Jones, Nissan; Ryan Kooiman, Standard Motor Products; Rebecca Mahan, DriV/Garage Gurus; Mike McRoberts of Rush Truck Centers; Natae Rayner from Kia; Dick Tejano of First Student; and Susan Trevaskis, Advance Auto Parts. 
    • US Tarp has promoted Jason Frazier to National Strategic Accounts Manager and Marti Kupres as Manager – Engineering & Facilities.
    • Performance Brokerage Services has named Mike Martinec as the newest partner of its Commercial Truck Division and has announced Sarah Ankeny as the director of operations of our Commercial Truck Division.
    • Marx Buscemi Eisbrenner Group has hired Bianca Shepse as an account executive.  
    •  Lubrication Specialties has added Steve Green to the company’s dealer sales management.
    • The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announces Mark Stewart has been elected president and CEO, effective Jan. 29, 2024. He will succeed Richard J. Kramer, who previously announced his planned retirement from the company following 24 years of service, including 14 as chairman, CEO and president. On the effective date, Laurette T. Koellner, Independent Lead Director of Goodyear’s Board since 2019, will become non-executive board chair, and Stewart will be added to the Goodyear board as a director. 
    • Great Dane has hired William (Bill) Davidson as executive vice president of manufacturing.
    • Brandon Woodard, a Wyakin Warrior veteran, has joined Phillips Industries as corporate director of continuous improvement and operational excellence. 
    • FMCSA Administrator Robin Hutcheson will leave the agency Jan. 26. Sue Lawless, executive director and chief officer, will serve as acting deputy administrator and lead the agency.
