Marc Karon, longtime leader of Total Truck Parts, was honored with the President’s Award at the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN) Summit Tuesday in Las Vegas.
Karon, who also entered the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Hall of Fame in 2021, has been a longtime member and supporter of the independent aftermarket. In addition to leading Total Truck Parts, he has been a vocal leader in CVSN's efforts around right to repair, and has served as chairman of the industry’s right to repair coalition on the topic.
In accepting the award, Karon thanked dozens of colleagues he’s worked with in the aftermarket over his career for their knowledge, guidance and support. He said of all the awards he’s won; this one means the most because of who bestowed it.

“This means a lot to me because it is coming from my fellow distributors,” Karon said. “It is recognition from people I respect the most who are respecting me.”
Karon also took time Tuesday to encourage the other Summit attendees to become as engaged in CVSN and the aftermarket as he has been. Karon said driving change, in a business or an industry, takes action and “if you sit on the sidelines and let other people do it, you’ll never be fulfilled.”
“Give back, I promise you will be rewarded many times for contributing,” he said, adding “the collective wisdom in this room can make everyone successful.”
Selection of the President’s Award is done by CVSN’s board of directors, and candidates are evaluated for their involvement in the organization’s pillar communities, dedication to industry involvement and collaboration and commitment to education and professional development.
