Southport Truck Group opening new facility

Southport Truck Group announced Friday the opening of its newest facility in Fort Myers, Fla.

The company says the new state-of-the-art location is conveniently located at 16110 Lee Road in Fort Myers off I-75 and Alico Rd. It is built on more than five acres to help service the growing commercial truck, van, and RV market in Southwest Florida. The building features 17 repair bays staffed by certified technicians and also offers RV service and repair to support its Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) business. Additionally, Southport says the facility has a customer lounge where drivers can relax with a restroom, workstations, free coffee, wi-fi, and comfortable seating to watch TV or connect to the internet.

“Southwest Florida is growing rapidly, and all of that growth requires trucks. We had outgrown our previous facility and wanted to position Southport to meet and exceed our customer’s needs today and, in the future,” says Josh Tollefson, operations manager at Southport Truck Fort Myers.

Southport Truck Group will hold an open house at the new location from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET on Nov. 8, 2018. The company says the event is being held to welcome the truckers, fleets, technicians and local community to their new facility. Lunch will be provided by Double Barrel Smokers out of Lakeland, Fla. Manufacturer experts will also be on hand to answer questions and help educate on new parts, the company says.

Southport Truck Fort Myers is a certified Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, FCCC, Sprinter and Cummins parts and service provider, and the company adds the new location is dedicated to taking care of customers parts needs quickly with an expanded parts warehouse and free local delivery. This commitment extends beyond Freightliner and Western Star parts with their Alliance Truck Parts showroom designed to showcase parts across all truck brands.

“Alliance Truck Parts allows us to offer our customer top-quality aftermarket parts that they can count on at competitive prices, no matter who made their truck. Our customers know that no matter how many trucks they have in their fleet, they can source most of their parts from us. Alliance parts are also backed by a nationwide warranty across the Freightliner network,” says Tollefson.
