Aperia, FlowBelow partnering on fuel economy product

Aperia Technologies and FlowBelow Aero are teaming up.

The companies announced Sunday at the 2017 Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tenn., a new hardware partnership that will enable customers to install both Aperia’s Halo and FlowBelow’s Tractor AeroKit together in a single inflation and fuel savings package.

FlowBelow President Josh Butler says his company and Aperia began discussing the partnership recently when discovering the symmetries between their products and their positioning on vehicles. Together, they worked to develop a product design that allows a FlowBelow wheel cover to attach over a Halo system, allowing a wheel end to earn the fuel savings of both products simultaneously.

“After seeing the demand from mutual fleet customers we partnered with FlowBelow Aero to develop a Halo-compatible aerodynamic wheel cover system,” says Josh Carter, CEO of Aperia. “It means that our customers can realize the fuel saving benefits of a total efficiency package that includes both the patented Halo Tire Inflator and the patented Tractor AeroKit system, which includes wheel covers.”

The duo says the two products weigh less together than they previously did as individual products, and should allow vehicle owners to reduce aerodynamic turbulence, increase MPG performance, extended tire life, and increased uptime and safety through reduced tire blowouts.

“Together, we can offer fleets up to 3-4 percent fuel savings, so it made perfect sense for us to team up and work together to deliver the combined FlowBelow-Halo package,” says Butler.
