N.J.'s Bergey's Truck Centers now certified Mack, Volvo EV dealer

A Mack LR fully electric garbage truck.

Bergey's Truck Center of Trenton, New Jersey,  is now a certified Mack and Volvo electric vehicle dealer.

"EV certification takes time and effort by all involved," says Bill Schenck, vice president of heavy-duty truck sales for Bergey's Truck Centers. "Our team worked hard to meet numerous stringent safety, charging, tooling, specialized master EV technician training, infrastructure and facility requirements to be certified. We plan to continue our training and upgrades in preparation for adding other Bergey's Truck Center locations to support EV customer needs."

Bergey's Trenton location has 13 service bays, two just for EVs. Two of their 12 technicians are EV-certified.

"One of Bergey's core values is a commitment to continuous improvement, and we wanted our sales and service teams to be ready to guide our customers as they look to start that next step in fleet sustainability," says Mark Brown, vice president of service for Bergey's. "We plan to continue our training and facility upgrades in preparation for adding other Bergey's Truck Center locations as demand for the battery-electric trucks continues to grow."

Bergey's has eight dedicated parts sales locations and maintains a stock of parts for EVs to minimize service times and get trucks back on the road.
