The Heavy Duty eCommerce Committee (HDeC) will be a new forum within the association's Business Technology Council. "The expansion of the BTC is another example of how MEMA is better leveraging the association's broad reach and depth to give our members greater access to programming that was once held within one of our divisions," says Collin Shaw, chief commercial vehicle officer at MEMA.

The HDeC will advance the heavy-duty aftermarket by advocating, educating and sharing ideas, industry best practices and data standards to drive e-commerce and overall business. This panel and its mission align with the objectives of the BTC and provides greater content and resources to heavy-duty suppliers.

"The HDeC makes all the sense in the world," says Chris Gardner, senior vice president of programs and technology, MEMA. "MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers' new alignment encompasses and addresses the needs of the heavy-duty vehicle supplier community, and the BTC is the home for all business technology content and initiatives."

The new committee will be chaired by Pricedex Software. It has an extensive history working on industry data standards, heavy duty product information and association activities, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers says.

"We are exceptionally proud to have been asked to organize and chair the new committee," says Pricedex CEO Terence O'Reilly. "The mandate is to bring hands-on thought leadership and knowledge exchange to assist and support heavy duty aftermarket suppliers in utilizing e-commerce data, practices and methods to meet new and evolving market demands while becoming more efficient and profitable. We genuinely believe this mandate is truly timely, meaningful and worthwhile, and we will strive to bring those benefits to HD aftermarket suppliers."

BTC executive committee members, BTC supplier members, a BTC affiliate member and industry organizations will have seats on the committee. The members from industry organizations will not have a vote.
