Midwest WheelBrooke Fletcher has received a $1,000 scholarship from the Iowa Motor Carriers Foundation and Midwest Wheel Companies.

The Iowa Motor Carriers Foundation is a division of the Iowa Motor Truck Association and has been awarding scholarships since 1986 to Iowans pursuing an advanced degree at an Iowa college or university.

Midwest Wheel Companies is a longtime IMTA member that offers a variety truck parts, accessories and services throughout Iowa and beyond. Midwest Wheel established the scholarship in 2011 an effort to show their support of young Iowans pursuing continued education. Scholarships through the Iowa Motor Carriers Foundation are available to anyone that is pursuing advanced education in the State of Iowa.

The Foundation was created in an effort for the trucking industry to give back to the state of Iowa and to invest in the most important asset that Iowa has — the next generation.

This year the Foundation says it is awarding ten $1,000 scholarships and all of these recipients possessed the work ethic, grades and commitment to excellence that are the main focus of the selection process.

Through its business scholarship, Midwest Wheel says it hopes to attract individuals into the field of business and ultimately the trucking industry. As one of the largest distributors in the Midwest, Midwest Wheel says it is proud and honored to offer a scholarship opportunity to an individual who is pursuing a higher education. Midwest Wheel has seven branches and serves a customer base in Iowa and its six neighboring states.
