Bergstrom sponsoring Northwood University student at MATS

Bergstrom Inc. is sponsoring one of four Northwood University students to attend the Mid-America Trucking Show this week in Louisville.

The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) spearheaded this student involvement program. Northwood University students submitted an application, and the top four students were selected to attend the show.

Bergstrom’s sponsored student, Alicia Laeder, will spend the week assisting event organizers, shadowing Bergstrom representatives, and attending educational sessions and networking events, including HDMA’s 25th Annual Breakfast and Briefing.

Bergstrom is pleased to partner with HDMA to support future industry professionals.

“We’re proud to sponsor Alicia and partner with HDMA in its efforts to offer networking and educational opportunities, and promoting growth within our industry,” says Joe Kirby, director of marketing for Bergstrom. “At Bergstrom, we believe investing in the next generation will better those individuals and the industry as a whole.”

Laeder will graduate in May with an undergraduate degree in Automotive Aftermarket from Northwood. The University also offers Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations through its University of the Aftermarket program.

“I’m thankful to be part of this program and excited to attend the show,” Laeder says. “I’ve helped out with automotive trade shows in the past and really enjoyed being a part of those events. I’m interested in marketing and business development, so MATS will give me a closer look at my future career.”
