Meritor increasing scope with Service Point

Meritor has partnered with TruckDown Info International, Inc., to enhance its Meritor Service Point network, the company announced Tuesday at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2016 in Las Vegas.

TruckDown is an efficient online system customers can use to locate qualified service centers in the United States and Canada. Fleets can also manage their service center contacts and rate vehicle repair services with website, to dramatically reduce downtime and total cost of ownership.

“Our goal for the Meritor Service Point Program is to provide end-users with a network of the highest-performing, Meritor-approved independent service centers,” says Steve Edie, product manager, Aftermarket for Meritor. “TruckDown is an ideal fit for widespread identification and promotion of Meritor Service Point partners.”

TruckDown began in 1997 and is highly recognized for its service locator resources with approximately 50,000 qualified supplier members, 20,000 registered fleet customers and 440,000 users. Meritor says the service is easily accessible with data provided to a wide range of Webenabled communications devices and truck-specific GPS devices. TruckDown also empowers customers to generate and save truck-legal routes and search for service centers along each vehicle’s route, the company says.

“Finding a service supplier is important, but finding the right supplier a fleet can trust is critical,” says Bob Toews, CEO at TruckDown. “Meritor Service Point partners exercise a high level of commitment to their customers and the utilization of quality parts, making them ideal candidates for our supplier membership.”

Meritor Service Point partners will have a distinct icon for easy identification by fleets and owner-operators on the TruckDown.com website.

“This is an end user’s assurance that the center has been Meritor-approved as a program partner providing best-in-class parts and
service,” Edie says.
