Purkeys introduces the Milliamp Clip-On Ammeter, which the company says can help customers reduce battery depletion problems by detecting the existence of parasitic load and accurately measuring low current in electrical systems without disconnecting any cords from the power source.
Technicians equipped with Purkeys’ milliamp ammeter don’t need to break the circuit to measure current, the company says. This ammeter precisely measures the magnetic field generated by current flowing through the conductor by clamping its interlocking jaws around a wire.
Purkeys says the the clip-on ammeter allows for accurate and efficient diagnosis of electrical systems and is able to accurately measure low current down to a milliamp.
Vehicles that are not used over long periods of time can have their batteries unexpectedly drained by parasitic load. Batteries left in this discharged condition can receive internal damage and need to be replaced.
Technicians that use Purkeys’ Milliamp Clip-On Ammeter can quickly identify these issues and reduce battery depletion and damage, the company says.
