AFA Industries has released an articulated steel piston with 16.5:1 C.R., and a 3.0 mm top piston ring included in its cylinder kit for Detroit Diesel engines.
Regarding the steel piston, AFA says the 3.0 mm top piston ring features special proprietary coating to reduce high heat scuffing and provide excellent break-in protection. The piston also has a Manganese Phosphate coating on the piston crown to improve break-in performance, provide superior corrosion resistance and help reduce pin bore scuffing.
Part number D23532554, AFA says the piston is in stock now and ready to ship. Additionally, the company also has piston kits, in-frame kits and complete overhaul kits for Detroit Diesel Series 50 8.5-liter and Series 60 11.1-liter and 12.7-liter engine families.
