Richmond Gear introduces three new heavy-duty gear oils.
The company says the new high-quality oils are 80w90 GL-4 multi-purpose, 80w90 GL-5 performance and Richmond gear friction modifier for limited slip differentials. The company says each product provides the following benefits:
- Richmond GL-4 is formulated to provide outstanding protection under adverse conditions, and is for use in transaxles and transmissions where specified. It will not harm brass, bronze, copper and other soft metals used in synchronizers, bushing and other components typically found in classic manual transmissions and transaxles from Richmond, BorgWarner, Muncie, New Process, Saginaw, etc. It contains no friction modifiers and can be used in light- and heavy-duty differentials where applicable.
- Richmond GL-5 is a low-viscosity hypoid gear oil that has been developed to provide maximum wear protection and lubrication security under the most adverse conditions. It is engineered for use in high-performance racing differentials and positraction units, and also can be used in light- and heavy-duty differentials where specified. It is not compatible with synthetic oils or additives.
- Richmond’s friction modifier is designed for use in limited slip axles to minimize clutch plate and cone chatter. It exceeds all ratings and is formulated for use in all axles where used of friction modifiers is specified.
Each product is available and ready to ship today, the company says.
