Bluetooth-enabled cargo security tool

autoventions trailer sentryAutoventions introduces Trailer Sentry, a Bluetooth-enabled cargo security device built for preventing truck and trailer cargo theft.

The system is designed to allow the user to lock a trailer and cab through a proprietary combination of hardware and software. The device is in a fully enclosed case that bolts to the frame rails underneath the trailer/cab and is designed for quick installation in less than 30 minutes. It is 6 in., wide, 8 in., long and 4 in., high. Autoventions says it is passcode-protected through an app that can be downloaded on any Android or iPhone device.

When the system is “unlocked,” the air brake system operates normally. When locking a trailer, Autoventions says users open the software application on the phone, enter the six-digit code, and press the “lock” button, and the system will “switch” the valve to the off position, which will engage the braking system to simulate as if someone is applying the trailer brakes. The brakes will stay in this position until released by the software “unlock” button on the mobile device, the company says.
