Incorporated in 1893 in Moline, Ill., as a manufacturer of wood spoke wheels for carriages and buggies, the company transitioned out of the wooden wheel business in 1932, pivoting to commercial part distribution for automotive and heavy-duty trucks. Mutual Wheel has grown into an 11-location distributor with facilities in Illinois and Iowa.
The company says its year-long milestone celebration is in full swing with contests and promotions for both customers and employees.
One of the promotions is a monthly supplier partner spotlight in which apparel featuring that month’s supplier is worn by the Mutual Wheel team, and special product promotions allow customers the chance to win similar apparel and supplier merchandise. Through the first five months of the year, Mutual Wheel has promoted SAF-Holland, STEMCO, Marathon Brake, SKF and Timken.
“We’re having a good year and it makes it a lot of fun to have the support of the top suppliers in the heavy-duty truck parts business,” the company says.
