The latest issue of Pressure System International’s (PSI) Commercial Fleet Tire Digest was released Thursday. This month’s issue hits on the main points of inspection for next month’s Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Roadside inspection week: brakes, lights and tires.
PSI writes “for most fleets, regardless of their specific trucking niche, the top three maintenance-related issues are consistently brakes, lights, and tires. Not necessarily in any particular order. The CVSA concurs that the top violations and resultant citations come from those three. Since fleets are aware that these issues are prevalent and being scrutinized by CVSA, why do citations continue to be written for them after all these years? That is the $1,000 question.”
PSI goes on to offer short guidance on how drivers and service technicians can perform regular inspections on those component systems as a way to reduce inspection issues.
