Webinar scheduled ahead of CVSA inspection week

Next month the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will be inspecting commercial trucks on the road for critical brake violations. From Sept. 16-22, CVSA will be conducting Level 1 “roadside mechanical fitness inspections” at weigh stations across the U.S. as well as reviewing driver logs and paperwork to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.

In advance of this event, CVSA and EROAD has announced it will hold a webinar “Getting Ready for Brake Safety Week” at 10 a.m. PT, Thursday, Sept. 6. CVSA’s Director of the Roadside Inspection Program Kerri Wirachowsky and EROAD Training Manager Susan Reszczynski will present during the webinar, providing a thorough review of items that will be covered during an inspection.

During this webinar, CVSA says attendees will learn:

  • Most common Brake Safety Week violations and how to avoid them
  • How to use electronic DVIRs to improve vehicle maintenance BASIC scores and prepare for roadside inspections
  • How to complete a proper ELD log transfer during an inspection
  • FAQs (with answers) from both FMCSA, CVSA and local DOT officers
