FinditParts company logoOn Wednesday FinditParts pledged its commitment to the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s (PCF) community fundraising initiative, Many vs Cancer, to match 100 percent of donations made through its website to the foundation for the remainder of 2018.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, FinditParts says, and because most of its customers are men, the company decided to bringing attention to the issue (1 in 9 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer) with its website could potentially save lives.

“After a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, I learned that the prevalence of the disease is similar to that of breast cancer, yet you just don’t hear much about it,” says David Seewack, founder and CEO of FinditParts. “I realized that I could make the greatest impact by starting a dialog where I have an audience and by raising the much needed funds to find a treatment for my friend.”

By matching all funds raised with no cap on the amount, FinditParts hopes to take the campaign to the next level by turning awareness into action and giving all customers an opportunity to make double the impact on a disease that continues to take a life of a man every 18 minutes.

The company says a “round-up” and donation option has been added to the FinditParts checkout process, however making a purchase on the site is not a requirement for making a donation. A FinditParts Supports Many vs Cancer microsite also has been created with links to free downloadable information about the disease and its prevention as well as information about how to get involved through Many vs Cancer, PCF’s online fundraising community.

“We are so grateful to David and his team at FinditParts for stepping up to make an impactful contribution to the advancement of cures for men affected by prostate cancer,” says Jonathan W. Simons, MD, president and CEO of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. “He is the first in his industry to take on prostate cancer as a cause and we hope that through his leadership others in his industry will follow.”

Although the program kicks off during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, FinditParts donation matching program will remain active through the end of 2018. No purchase is necessary to participate.
