Truck Parts Solutions announced this week it is celebrating 25 years serving the trucking industry in 2019.

The company was founded by Scott Tetz out of his one-bedroom apartment in 1994 in Edmonton, Alberta. Tetz inspiration for the business came from his childhood working at his father’s salvage yard and the need for a service that helped dealers locate and liquidate new, used, salvage and rebuilt truck parts.

His first initiative in this area was Partslink. The Partslink Service started with the use of fax machines to connect buyers and sellers in the heavy-duty industry. The first Partslink ad went out in March 1994 via fax to a handful of dealers and is now sent out daily over the internet to hundreds of dealers across North America.

After several successful years with Partslink, Tetz then noticed the industry still seemed to be missing something: a way to connect buyers directly with sellers of heavy-duty truck parts. So in 1996 PartSeek was launched, a free parts request service for buyers such as repair shops, truckers and salvage yards.

As the internet grew, so did the need for an all-encompassing software within the heavy-duty industry. A software that allowed companies to organize and manage their salvage and parts businesses. Originally the advertising and inventory management systems were available separately but with simplicity in the back of his mind, Tetz says he decided to amalgamate the two systems into one: TruckPartsInventory.com (TPI). TPI allows salvage and parts companies to manage their business in the internet age. Companies can input or upload their parts and trucks to TPI and fully manage their inventory on the back end with features like truck breakdown, build orders, quoting, invoicing, and customer relation management tools, all while being mobile and device friendly. This gives business owners better use of their time so they can work smarter and sell more.

Truckers, fleets and repair shops use TPI’s free search every day to look for parts across North America. With TPI, finding that obsolete truck part becomes lot easier. There are more than 850,000 used, recycled, new and aftermarket heavy-duty truck parts from hundreds of sellers listed for sale on TPI.

And as the internet age also has evolved, so has the scope of services that Truck Parts Solutions offers. Alongside Partslink and TruckPartsInventory.com, Truck Parts Solutions also builds and maintains websites and creates custom software solutions for companies in the industry. Tetz and the Truck Part Solutions team have always conducted business with honesty, integrity and fairness. These values have kept the business thriving even through tough economic times.
