Global Remanufacturing DayBBB Industries joined companies from around the world to elevate and raise the awareness of remanufacturing during Global Remanufacturing Day last week.

As part of its observance of Global Remanufacturing Day, Duncan Gillis, BBB’s CEO, and Mark Nugent, BBB’s senior director of business development, delivered a guest lecture to students in the Sustainable Supply Chain Management course in the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University.

The session was titled ‘Real World Sustainability: Doing Good While Flying High’. Gillis and Nugent presented a remanufacturing and sustainability case study and facilitated an interactive discussion on the benefits remanufacturing brings to customers, the environment, the workforce and investors, BBB says.

“In addition to the environmental benefits, the remanufacturing industry is projected to grow at a rapid rate in the coming years, generating many highly skilled job opportunities,” Gillis says. “The goal of Reman Day is to promote the benefits of remanufacturing, and BBB is happy to do its part to bring awareness to the value remanufacturing brings to the economy and the environment.”

“This guest lecture provided students the unique opportunity to participate in a live case study,” adds Beth Davis-Sramek, Gayle Parks forehand professor of supply chain management. “Through this interaction, our students were able to get firsthand knowledge about how firms can embrace the principles of a circular economy to meet the needs of society now and in the future. For our business leaders of tomorrow, these kinds of learning opportunities are priceless.”
