The Service Specialists Association (SSA) has announced the speaker list for its upcoming 2019 Convention, scheduled for Oct. 1-3, 2019, in Newport, R.I.
Three leading industry experts have been carefully selected to be part of the conference. David Saline, president of Drive will share his industry insights. Drive is one of the industry’s top business consulting groups, specializing in mechanical, collision and heavy-duty truck repair. Saline will bring Drive’s technology, training and innovative management systems to all our members. Saline was a previous shop owner and holds over 40 technical certifications.
The SSA is also pleased to have Rick Martin. Martin has over 48 years of hands-on experience and has provided training on brakes, steering, transmissions, driveline, electrical systems, anti-lock braking systems, and collision mitigation systems. Martin will be speaking on the importance of steering sensors and on how companies can attract fleets to independent service garages.
Lastly, the keynote speaker for this year will be Rence Oliphant, vice president of global sales, Hendrickson. Oliphant joined Hendrickson in 1995 and has been in the capacity of district sales manager and North American sales director. His current responsibilities include setting sales goals and creating strategic plans based on company and customer objectives.
In addition to these wonderful speakers, the SSA says it will facilitate other networking opportunities and roundtable discussions where business owners can exchange information. The organization adds it also has events planned for spouses and family members that will be held on Wednesday. Viking Tours will conduct a Trolley Tour of Newport and a unique Mansion Visit!
