Trucks, Parts, Service Editor Lucas Deal was the guest on this week’s episode of The Heavy Duty Parts Report with Jamie Irvine.
During the 20-plus minute discussion, Deal and Irvine discussed the status of the independent aftermarket in the United States and Canada, both in comparison to 2018 and early projections for the made 12 months ago. The discussion also touched the fluctuations in new medium and heavy-duty truck and trailer sales markets, and the impact those totals are having on the used market and the aftermarket.
Consolidation also was briefly addressed during the conversation, with Deal sharing his insights on the consolidation he is seeing in the aftermarket and dealer channels, and the likelihood that such changes persist into the decade.
