Recently A&I Parts Center Owner Griff Lasley challenged his employees. A firm believer in lifetime learning and the long-term benefits it provides for employees and their organizations, Lasley incentivized his team to "bankrupt him," by completing as many training courses possible offered through HDA Truck Pride University.
Lasley told his team for every course they completed, they would receive extra compensation. Now that the eight-week challenge is over, Lasley is excited to stand up by word, and pay up.
A&I Parts Center recently paid out more than $90,000 in additional compensation to its employees, and had record sales the very next month.
“I wanted it to be a year-end challenge, I wanted to pay out higher holiday bonuses. More importantly, I wanted our team to understand how training leads to higher sales," says Lasley. "We had a record sales month following the month of focused training. The payout was just the icing on the cake. We couldn’t have done it without the University and being able to monitor and measure what our guys are doing."
HDA Truck Pride University offers more than 1,000 courses from industry partners and gives credit for attending the course. Many courses also offer assessments that are graded in real-time. As one of HDA Truck Pride's strategic pillars, President and CEO Tina Hubbard was thrilled to see the group's training courses put to good use by the A&I team.
"We are extremely proud of the example A & I Parts Center has set within their organization; and for our entire membership. We know their results are just the beginning, and that our members will be able to replicate this success. Great job Griff and everyone at A&I," she says.
