Bosch introduces diagnostic tools for off-highway commercial vehicles

Updated May 16, 2019

Bosch has introduced a new off-highway diagnostic cable and introductory software package in North America for the 3824 and 3824BSC ESI[truck] HD diagnostic tools, enabling technicians to diagnose and repair many non-highway vehicles.

Bosch says coverage included with the new kit can help diagnose construction equipment, street sweepers, agricultural vehicles, stationary engines and more. The new cable and introductory software kit are available now through tool dealers and distributors.

The kit, 3824CBL-UPG, provides 3824 and 3824BSC owners with a set of cables and introductory software for off-highway vehicles. The company says repair information and diagnostic capabilities cover vehicles and systems with a variety of information, specific to vehicle type and manufacturer, and include:

  • System coverage: Gearbox, HVAC, engine, steering, hydraulic systems, suspension, electronic modules, antipollution, central computer and more
  • Diagnostic coverage: Manual processes, diagnosis info, measurable values, component actuations, ECU data, parameter IDs (PIDs), calibrations and resets, system technical data, wiring diagrams, vehicle technical data and vehicle maintenance info

Prior to the expiration of introductory off-highway software, shop owners and techs can renew their off-highway coverage subscription through Bosch with part number 3824-08OHW, also available Q1 2019. Bosch adds this kit is not compatible with the 3823 or 3823BSC ESI[truck] Pro diagnostic tools.
