Over the years, my career has taken a couple of turns, but with each one came new adventures, new challenges and new experiences.
That’s the exciting part of any change I think – learning new things and meeting new people and not knowing exactly where the next day will lead.
Following several years in the newspaper industry covering the people and events of my hometown, Russellville, Ala., I moved into a new field altogether a couple of years ago, covering the motorhome industry.
Working in that industry allowed me to meet many wonderful and bright people, many of whom changed the recreational vehicle industry forever and helped revolutionize that field. It also enabled me to meet a great number of the fascinating customers who often make RVs their new homes and travel all across our country.
With my recent hiring as an associate editor with Truck Parts & Service, I am excited to learn all about this industry and meet many of the great folks who keep our nation moving.
As I travel, it fascinates me seeing all the different trucks along our interstates and highways. When I sit back and think about all the things that are being moved across our country in these rigs, it’s really mind-boggling.
Most all the products that we use in our day-to-day lives were moved on one of these trucks at some time or another. Whether it’s the food we eat or the products we use, the trucking industry keeps the country moving. It keeps us supplied with the items we need.
