Longtime Four Star Freightliner customer, Benny Whitehead, Inc., received the first-ever Customer Loyalty Award from Daimler Truck Financial.
DTF is the financial services provider for the Daimler Trucks North America family of commercial vehicle products which includes Freightliner Trucks, Western Star and other vehicle brands.
Peter Bergin presented the award on behalf of DTF to Benny Whitehead, the company founder. Bergin said BWI has been an exceptional customer since 2005.
“I think Daimler Truck Financial is a great company,” Bergin says. “But we can’t ever be great without truly exceptional and loyal customers.”
BWI is a refrigerated carrier, headquartered in Eufaula, Ala., and operates all over the country hauling mostly dry goods and produce. They have worked primarily with new truck manager David Turner since they began doing business with Four Star Freightliner in the early 2000s.
“Benny runs 100 Freightliner trucks,” Turner says. “He has tried other brands of trucks but demanded the best in fuel mileage and dependability. Freightliner trucks and Detroit engines are the best.”
BWI trucks are all team trucks and run an average of 200,000 plus miles per year. This past year his top drivers logged more than 280,000 miles and his top fuel mileage team averaged 9.1 MPG for the year. The fleet average for fuel mileage is 8.5 MPG and is recorded after every trip out and back.
Turner describes the relationship between Four Star Freightliner and Benny Whitehead, Inc. as a family. He says BWI is Freightliner’s biggest advocate and continues to share BWI’s success story with other customers.
“I appreciate what you all (Four Star Freightliner) have done for us and what you do for us,” says Whitehead. “The key to the whole thing is longevity. We get to know each other.”
Bergin added, “We’re fortunate to have a great product to finance and a great dealership (Four Star Freightliner) to support us.”
