Carrier Transicold announced Wednesday it has named Reefer Sales & Service, Brampton, Ontario, as its Dealer of the Year – North America; and Marítima Dominicana (MARDOM), Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as its Dealer of the Year – Latin America.
The winners were first announced at the company’s recent annual meeting in Austin, Texas.
This was the first Dealer of the Year – North America award for Reefer Sales & Service, a 130-employee enterprise that supports Ontario’s refrigerated transport industry.
Ken Henwood, president, Reefer Sales & Service, says multiple factors contributed to the win, including the 2017 consolidation of formerly separate operations into a new 46,000 sq.-ft. Brampton facility with 20 service bays, an expansive parts operation and a new training center.
“Plus, we have incredible people who have a genuine commitment to customer service and responsiveness, and we’ve made considerable investments in training,” Henwood says. “It all just came together for us.”
For MARDOM, this is its third Dealer of the Year award in nine years, having previously won for 2008 and 2012. Founded as a Carrier-authorized marine container refrigeration service center under the name Reefer Services in 1999, the operation later expanded into the truck and trailer refrigeration business. Led by Mario Chong, vice president of sales, MARDOM is considered a model dealership within Latin America, according to Jesús Estrada, region director for Mexico and Latin America, Carrier Transicold.
“MARDOM’s performance in 2017 was spectacular,” Estrada says. “They were able to execute important changes in their organization while maintaining aggressive sales performance and retaining a strong culture of customer service.”
Carrier Transicold says another dealership that received special honors this year was W&B Service Company of Converse, Texas, recipient of the prestigious Extra Mile award for outstanding customer service. A total of 56 dealerships were recognized with 92 awards for 2017 performance in areas of customer satisfaction, growth, business investment and service proficiency, the company says.
Additionally, three individuals were recognized for personal accomplishments: Eleonora Navarro, Carrier Transicold of Southern California, City of Industry, Calif., was named Dealer Parts Manager of the Year; Duke Sickle, Carrier Transicold South, Statesboro, Ga., was named Dealer Service Manager of the Year; and Robbie Stubbs, Sunbelt Transport Refrigeration, Tampa, Fla., was named Dealer Sales Manager of the Year.
