Michigan dealer holds 5K for Shriner’s organization


West Michigan International/K&R Truck Sales/Idealease of West Michigan recently held a 5K walk/run event to raise money for Saladin Shriners.

The 5K race was held on Oct. 13, 2018, at Millennium Park in Walker, Mich.. Although a small race, there were generous givers. Saladin Shriners received $3,500 in donations.

“We feel that it is a privilege and an obligation for our dealerships to support our local charities and give back to the community where we can,” says Ed Rietman, dealer Principal, West Michigan International/K&R Truck Sales. “We are committed to our local community and our neighbors. We want to continue to support our local charities like Saladin Shriners and others, says Ed Rietman.”

Saladin Shriners is a local fraternity based on fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. Their philanthropy, Shriners Hospitals for Children, is a world-renowned health care system with 22 locations in three countries that provides specialty care for children up to age 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate, regardless of the families’ ability to pay. Saladin Shriners provides transportation for local children and their families in our area to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Chicago and Cincinnati, the company says.
