On July 15, Truck Parts & Service announced its finalists for the 2013 Distributor of the Year award. We are now taking a brief look at each nominated business.

Today we catch up with John Sadler, president at Sadler Power Train.

When was your business founded?

Sadler Machine Company was founded in 1956; Sadler Power Train in 1975.

How many locations do you have?

Four: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Davenport, Iowa, Waterloo, Iowa and Dubuque, Iowa.

How many employees do you have?

133 total between Sadler Power Train and Sadler Machine.

What is your company’s value proposition?

Exceptional Customer Service: We pride ourselves on a knowledgeable staff to help the customer get the right parts the first time. We offer free daily delivery service within our market areas to get the customer their parts when they need them.

Extensive Inventory: We are constantly looking for opportunities to expand our product offerings to our customer base — whether it is taking on new product lines from current suppliers, or product lines that we’ve never offered before. We offer many OE and aftermarket replacement part options for customers to choose from.

Quality Service and Repair: We offer a wide range of services at our locations to meet customer needs. Whether it is driveline service, flywheel grinding, U-bolt bending, hydraulic service or full service truck maintenance our technicians are highly skilled and efficient to help minimize downtime and keep customers on the road. We have a 60,000 sq. ft. machine shop that is IS0 9001 certified and can repair or fabricate parts to customer specifications, or back to the OE specifications.

We continually strive to keep up with changes in technology and improve our infrastructure to make sure our customer base continues to receive the customer service they have grown to expect from Sadler Power Train.
