University of the Aftermarket now accepting scholarship applications

The University of the Aftermarket Foundation announced Tuesday that applications are now being accepted online for automotive scholarship opportunities offered by more than 30 auto care industry organizations, including the University of the Aftermarket Foundation

By visiting www.automotivescholarships.com, interested candidates can view a wide array of scholarship opportunities.

Scholarships are available for students enrolled in two-year technical colleges or vocational schools and training to become automotive, heavy-duty or collision repair technicians, as well as students in four-year college programs pursuing a degree in business, marketing, engineering or other major courses of study and planning to enter the automotive field upon graduation.

“For the current school year, a record number of automotive scholarships were awarded, totaling more than $400,000, and we are pleased to have added even more opportunities for the 2017-18 school year,” says Pete Kornafel, MAAP, a trustee of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation. “We encourage deserving students that are pursuing a career in the auto care industry to visit the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarship Central website and apply today.”

By completing a single application on the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarship Central website, the Foundation says students can be considered for multiple scholarships for the 2017-18 school year. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2017.

“Applications are reviewed by each organization where the applicant meets the specified criteria,” says Kornafel. “A full list of scholarships is featured on the home page, and there is a page outlining each organization’s scholarship details, eligibility requirements and awards. To apply for as many scholarships as possible, applicants should thoroughly read the individual pages to ensure they include the proper information required by each organization.”
