The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), the ASE Education Foundation and WrenchWay are joining forces to promote School Assist, a solution connecting vehicle service employers with schools that need resources.

"At ASE, we recognize the critical importance of connecting schools with the transportation industry to ensure the next generation of service professionals are well-prepared for the workforce," says Dave Johnson, president and CEO of ASE. "Our partnership with WrenchWay, utilizing School Assist, allows us to supercharge those connections previously enabled by our Adopt-A-School program. It provides schools with the tools and resources they need in one centralized platform. This partnership underscores our commitment to solving the technician shortage by bringing industry and education together to create local solutions for a national problem."

WrenchWay is an online community dedicated to promoting and improving technician careers. It created School Assist to make it easier for schools to work with the industry. Schools can use the platform to make requests for guest speakers, shop tours, tool donations, internships and more. Shops, dealers and others can scroll through the requests and connect with schools. It also allows industry members to post available resources for educators.

It has more than 1,100 participating schools across the country. The ASE Education Foundation will invite its 2,000 ASE accredited training programs to join the platform for free.

"ASE's commitment to helping create the next generation of certified technicians is unparalleled along with their industry standard accreditation and Adopt-A-School program, bringing employers and educators together," says Mark Wilson, cofounder and CEO of WrenchWay. "We are thrilled to join forces on School Assist and other industry initiatives."
