It’s a hat trick! For the third consecutive day we recognize a new company on our Trucks, Parts, Service top ten products countdown.
Today our first-time participant is Thermo King, which makes our list for its new heat pumps for battery electric buses.
Introduced in September, Thermo King stated the new heaters could prove incredibly useful in colder climates. The company reports traditional electric resistance heaters can reduce the range for a bus by drawing energy from the vehicle’s batteries.
“This product is a critical step in continuing to make public transportation more efficient, reliable and eco-friendly, proving that decarbonization and operational excellence can go hand in hand,” said Chris Tanaka, vice president of product management for Thermo King Americas. “Our TE Series Heat Pump represents the future of sustainable transit. By applying heat pump expertise, we are equipping fleet operators with innovative solutions that extend beyond emissions reduction alone.”
